Week 7 NFL Predictions and Analysis
When the DETROIT LIONS visit the LOS ANGELES RAMS on Sunday (4:05 PM ET, FOX), both starting quarterbacks will be facing the teams that drafted them for the first time. Detroit’s JARED GOFF was selected No. 1 overall by the Rams in 2016 and passed for 18,171 yards and 107 touchdowns in 69 starts for the franchise and led them to a Super Bowl LIII appearance in 2018.
Kansas City quarterback PATRICK MAHOMES leads the league with 18 touchdown passes this season and ranks third with 1,887 passing yards. Last week, he totaled a season-high 397 passing yards, his 29th career game with at least 300 passing yards.
Tennessee running back DERRICK HENRY enters this week leading the league with 783 rushing yards and 10 rushing touchdowns. He is the third player ever with at least 750 rushing yards and 10 rushing touchdowns in his team’s first six games of a season, joining Pro Football Hall of Famers JIM BROWN (1958) and ERIC DICKERSON (1983).

The ARIZONA CARDINALS (4-0) are the last undefeated team and have scored at least 30 points in each of their first four games of the 2021 season.
The BUFFALO BILLS (3-1) visit the KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (2-2) on Sunday Night Football (8:20 PM ET, NBC) in a rematch of last season’s AFC Championship.
The NFL returns to London for the first of two international games on the 2021 schedule when the NEW YORK JETS (1-3) meet the ATLANTA FALCONS (1-3) at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (9:30 AM ET/2:30 PM in the UK, NFL Network).

A few weeks ago I had an opportunity to interview several former college football players who were significant contributors to their college programs. One of those players ,I interviewed was Rashad "Roc Carmichael", former Virginia Tech cornerback, who played for legendary Hokies Coach Frank Beamer.
Carmichael played with the Hokies from 2007-2010, During his college career at Virginia Tech, Carmichael recorded 115 tackles (75 solos), 10 interceptions, 16 pass breakups, and 26 passes defended. He was selected in the 4th round as the 127th pick by the Houston Texans.
While at Virginia Tech, Carmichael played alongside some other familiar NFL names- QB Tyrod Taylor, DL Jason Worilds, WR Eddie Royal and DB Kam Chancellor.
Roc and I had a chance to discuss his days at Virginia Tech along with his professional football career in the NFL and CFL.

Kansas City quarterback PATRICK MAHOMES is slated to make his 50th career start when the Chiefs (1-2) visit the Philadelphia Eagles (1-2) on Sunday (1:00 PM ET, CBS). He has 15,092 passing yards and 123 touchdown passes during his five-year career, both the most by a quarterback in his first 50 career starts.
Las Vegas quarterback DEREK CARR leads the NFL with 1,203 passing yards as the Raiders have opened 3-0 for the first time since 2002. He has recorded at least 325 passing yards in five consecutive games dating back to Week 16 of the 2020 season, tied for the second-longest such streak all-time.
With 297 passing yards against the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday Night Football (8:15 PM ET, ESPN), Carr would become the fifth quarterback in league annals with at least 1,500 passing yards through his team’s first four games of a season.

Detroit tight end T.J. HOCKENSON ties for the league lead with 16 receptions this season, after recording eight receptions for 97 yards and a touchdown in Week 1 and eight receptions for 66 yards and a touchdown in Week 2.
Against Baltimore on Sunday (1:00 PM ET, CBS), Hockenson can become the first tight end in NFL history with at least eight receptions and a touchdown reception in each of his team’s first three games of a season.

The BALTIMORE RAVENS, who visit the LAS VEGAS RAIDERS on Monday Night Football in Week 1 (8:15 PM ET, ESPN/ABC), have won their last five Kickoff Weekend games, the AFC's second-longest active streak. Since 2016, Baltimore has outscored its opponents 177-26 on Kickoff Weekend and hasn't allowed more than 10 points in any of its previous five Week 1 games.
The reigning NFC North division champion GREEN BAY PACKERS open their season on the road on Sunday (1:00 PM ET, FOX) against the reigning NFC South division champion NEW ORLEANS SAINTS at TIAA Bank Field in Jacksonville. The Packers have won 58 games on Kickoff Weekend, the most in the NFL. Green Bay has won its past six Kickoff Weekend games, tied with Kansas City for the longest active streak in the NFL.
The CHICAGO BEARS visit the LOS ANGELES RAMS on Sunday Night Football in Week 1 (8:20 PM ET, NBC). Chicago has 55 wins on Kickoff Weekend, the second-most in the NFL, while the Rams have won four consecutive Week 1 games, the second-longest active streak in the NFC.
