WHAT TO LOOK FOR – WEEK 6
THE PATRIOT WAY: The NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS enter Week 6 as the AFC’s only unbeaten team (5-0) and with the top defense in the NFL, ranking first in fewest points allowed per game (6.8) and fewest yards allowed per game (238.4). Their 34 total points allowed through five games are the fewest points allowed through a team’s first five games since the 2005 INDIANAPOLIS COLTS (29 points) and the fifth-fewest since 1970.
This Sunday, Kansas City quarterback PATRICK MAHOMES and Houston quarterback DESHAUN WATSON face each other for the first time in their careers, when the Chiefs welcome the Texans to Arrowhead Stadium (1:00 PM ET, CBS). Entering Week 6, Mahomes leads the NFL in passing yards (1,831), while Watson ranks second in the league in passer rating (115.9). The pair are tied for second in the league in touchdown passes with 11.
Mahomes, who has 7,212 passing yards in 22 career games, and Watson, who has 7,228 passing yards in 28 career games, can each reach 7,500 career passing yards on Sunday. Should the pair each reach the milestone, they would become the fastest and tied for the third-fastest quarterbacks in NFL history to reach 7,500 career passing yards.
Seattle quarterback RUSSELL WILSON passed for 268 yards and four touchdowns with a 151.8 passer rating in the Seahawks’ Week 5 win. Wilson, who currently leads the NFL with a 126.3 passer rating in 2019, has a passer rating of 100 or higher in each of Seattle’s first five games of the season.
With a passer rating of 100 or higher on Sunday at Cleveland (1:00 PM ET, FOX), Wilson would become the fourth player in NFL history with a passer rating of 100 or higher in each of his first six games of a season.
